2 weeks ago i dislocated my shoulder snowboarding. It wasn't to bad and she popped right back in. Then two days ago i dislocated it real, real bad. I've gotta go for two months of physio in 6 weeks time. The doc said i might not be able to wakeboard again without a reconsrtuction.Faaarrrkkk
Has anyone out there had an injury similar to this and been able to wakeboard again. Please gimme some hope. Peace

Professional experience in the Sports Medicine world....
Get a 2nd opnion and if the MD's are in agreement about your shoulder do what they say. You're better off getting this repaired now to be truthful. Last thing you want to do is more damage to your shoulder, which would make it much more difficult to repair.

Had a severe dislocation wakeboarding 2 years ago and did not have surgury because it was "boarderline" neccessary. It is pretty stable now (still do PT to this day). Don't risk dislocating it again because you can end up breaking the ball joint and be in a world of trouble.

I dislocated my shoulder for the first time about 12 years ago. It was a severe dislocation. Since then it has come out about 8 more times, but none even near as painful as the first. I don't have problems with it for the most part. I would wait and see if it gets better. Shoulder surgeries are notoriously over prescribed.

surgury is the way to go.

june 1st 2002 i droped my shoulder out of socket doing a raley. it was really bad hurt like s. so my family took me to the hospital to put it back in. the next week i went to the docter. i had a complete tear in my cartledge in the front of my shoulder and chiped some of my ball joint off. he also told me that without surgury i WOULD tear it back out of socket no matter what.
so i went through surgery and have not had a single problem with it all year.

i am very happy that i had surgury and sugest that you do the same thing
