I don't really know much about the area, I've never been but my question is.... is there anywhere near to ride? I'll be there for ~10 days or so starting on the 30th... just wondering if its warm enough/anywhere near where I could hunt down a pull if time permits Thanks for the help! *i'll also be in the Bay Area for 6 days starting the 8th and then Vegas for 3 days starting the 13th... if people are stil riding there

Anything is "warm enough" if you have the right equipment. Long Beach Marine Stadium is your best bet. Air temp is in the 60's and water temp is 58. There is some guys running a "camp" with a X-Star out of there, but it will cost you for a pull. There are a few lakes with in a hour or two drive(Pyramid, Castaic and Elsinore lakes). My boat goes in the garage once the local ski resorts open. You are better off riding a snowboard at Bear MTN. (Message edited by shooter_08 on December 25, 2009)

Its Southern California, so nothing ever freezes over. Now with that being said, there is little to no fresh water lakes within a couple hours drive. But look on the lighter side, you may see one of the Kardashians walking down the street in a bikini for no reason on any given day. L.A. is one of the worst regions I've ever heard of for the wake/ski crowd.

In the summer its hard to find a good place to ride in LA. The local lakes are packed unless you can get a mid week pull. We bite the bullet and make the long drives in order to find some sort of sanity. More extended trips instead of just grabbin a set. This time of year isn't bad if you don't mind rockin a wetsuit. Your best bet right now is to surf. This fall/winter we has seen some of the best surf in a while. On Wed afternoon it was 65 air/58 water, no wind and head high and lots of fun. There is another swell on the way.

Real good Randy! He got lots of stuff...most of which he won't be able to use for a while, but still good. It was nice and relaxing. How about you guys; everything good?

I didn't even think about surfing... I figured I would do that in the Bay Area, I have a board there so I wouldn't have to rent (pretty broke)and its just not worth it to me, especially if its a soft-top

You have the scenes switched then. You should try and ride in NorCal and surf in SoCal. Where are you staying in LA?

bumming pulls in socal is an art form in itself. might check out nick & julz heaney if you get super desperate (wakeexperience.com). long beach is money around now, but its hard to find pulls cause of the salt. we might ride down at elsinore later this week, ill ask if we have room for another and keep ya posted nick.

The Delta is a GREAT place to Wakesurf! Just don't do it on the Sac River, It's Illegal there! I'd hate to see you get the $12,600 fine for doing it!

Thinking about riding Lake San Antonio on New Years Day if I can rally the troops, but that is about 3.5 hrs north of LA.

That is a great question, I have been wondering the same thing for a while now. I'll get back to you on that. Don't think I'll be trunkin it in Jan, the boys wouldn't be able to handle that. We don't go back to our lake until Valentine's day anyway.

Riley, a question about your post about getting fined for surfing? How did that happen, and what law were you/someone else accused of breaking?
