most use ATF (auto tranny fluid)
the hand pumps or drill pumps are the easiest way to get it out.
replace with same volume you pump out.

I change my V-drive and transmission fluid once a season while winterizing.

My Borg-warner uses Dexron automatic transmission fluid.

I generally change mine every 50 hours.

Normal ATF unless the manufacturer recommends something else.

What I do to replace mine:
Items required, bucket, 3 empty quart bottles, hand pump, lot's of rags & large towel.
Put the towel down on the floor, I put the empty quart bottles in the bucket and pump out the old fluid into the empty bottles, replace with new ATF what you took out, test levels and you are good to go. I use the bucket to catch any fluids that might escape. Keeps the carpet clean.

Check your manual. I beleive mine says every 100 hours, at least once a season? I use 15w40 motor oil as that is what is recommended.

Some use SAE30, ATF or 15-40. Change it every year or 100 hours.

THis works the best.

Check level on stick first, then just add what ever it takes to make it the same.

I change mine every 50 hrs with the oil. It may be more often than necessary but with running a lot of ballast I figure that it couldn't hurt.
