GT40 P Heads

Hi guys

I have a good deal for 2 new GT40 P cylinder heads. I have a 89 Ski Nautique with a 351 with 240 hp. Are these 351W? Is it worth to change.

The GT40P heads are for a 302.

If you are looking into GT40 heads, be sure they are marine heads and not the aluminium auto heads unless you have closed cooling. The AL heads don't last very long in a raw water cooling system.

They would work but you would have to drill the head bolt holes out to 1/2" to make them fit a 351W. Also, the exhaust port is different and I doubt you could find a boat exhaust manifold to fit them.

A much better option would be to get some Dart Sr. Iron heads. They cost about $900 complete and would be an easy bolt on. They are much better heads and have A LOT of porting potential.

They are cast iron. Al head you can forget, as I don't have a fresh water cooling. Al head would be much more expensive though. I have to pay 300 EURO for 2 complete new heads. That would be cheap.

I remember that Skidim was trying to sell some on their webpage. It was also the GT40P version, so I thought it will be the same.

But I don't like to spend 300 for something which dont fit in the end.
