Well I have been trying to get my stereo put together for a while and now have a new dilemma to deal with. I ordered the Kicker KMT6's a few month's ago but havn't had a chance to install them yet. Now the more I read about them vs. HLCD's the more I am thinking about going with a pair of Krypt 8" HLCD's which I can probly do for about $400 including the cans. I am just wondering if it is worth the extra $200.
A couple things I read recently said the Kickers are not that great at 80' where as any HLCD is pretty much clear at 80'. Honestly sound at riding distance and speed is a priority.
I have a ARC audio 1000.2 amp so I dont think power will be an issue to run the Krypts. Now i know that some have been critical of the Krypt speakers but they are pretty much all i can fit in my budget right now. Yes, if I had the money I would go for the Exiles, but I have to stay in my budget. I also did consider the Kickers 6500.2's, but after having to buy cans and everything else I know I will be around $650 to $700.
Just wanted some input as I am looking to get stuff done by Memorial weekend.
