I have finally finished repairing my boat after an rta, fitted a tower and put a 17' prop on, have a half decent wake, without much extra weight, but I need to know, does a longer rope, aid or does it make no difference, should i just be aiming for the best part of the wake? which is about 50' back from the tow point.

set a comfortable speed and let your rope out, so the rider is about a foot or two before the wake turns to whitewash.

22 mph is a good starting point. If the wake isn't clean past 50 feet at 22mph, then you need to add some weight.
