So I just got the mana kai setup off ebay and im having problems with the stance width. The furthest out feels to wide but one notch in on each side feels to close together but just moving one binding in a notch feels perfect. Has anybody ridden with off center stances? Will it make a difference or possibly be the most dangerous thing ever to have exhisted?
Thanks
Darren

One time quite a few years ago I was out riding and after a few sets realized I was set up off center towards the nose, considering I learned tantrums that way I am going to say you should be ok if it feels good, and hell a lot of snowboards are tail heavy and its not an issue.

I have mine set up that way. Back foot is all the way back and front foot is one space from all the way out.

That's how the 1997 Hyperlite Heer 147 mounting holes were placed in the board. It was 1 space toward the tail end of the board.

Your stances should be centered all the time. Think about it, the board will push more water with a tail heavy stance, and you will rely on using the fins in the tail to turn the board, when you should be learing how to use the rails of the board to turn.

Do it if you want to learn some bad habits.
