It felt like spring toady, or SoCal! Lots of debris in the water but it was great to get back out on the water.

Air was 70 today and water temps around 63 or so. I went surfing today. It was victory at sea here in the panhandle. I wish I'd gone wake surfing instead. We went last weekend, air temps mid to upper 60's and water temps around 63 as well.

You southern boys have all the good weather...our water temp just broke 50...still pretty chilly.

Kelly's learning to drive. We drove by the boat club today. Most of the ice melted. Probably my first ride of the season will be at the Lake Norris Ice Breaker, April 26-27. That will probably be the inaugural ride for the Pizza Hut board and the Night Rider. I don't think I can fit the long board in the truck.

Hmmmm. What kind of board is James riding?

This was two weeks back.
Probably get out tomorrow if the weather stays nice.

Hey Ed, we can strap the long board to the roof of the Pilot. Isn't this the way a real surfer would transport their board?

That would be a sight in Ohio:-)

Texas and Florida has the weather! It's simply not fair! :-)

Hey Ed, James is on a Vernor Quad. David Vernor used to shape for Shred Stixx and in a discussion with him last week he indicated that he will have his own label this season.

The cut / shape on the board in the top picture looks awfully familiar. I hope that for Vernors sake, he has checked with the latest edition of Copywrite and registered trademark laws.

James and I got stuck in the middle of this mess between David and Jerry. Something I'm not too fond of. I've never heard of a copywrite or trademark on a board outline...do you know for a fact that such exists, Greg? I don't want that to sound like I am defending anyone, I'm genuinely interested and would like to know the whole story before I get into a bigger mess.

If someone has time, I'd appreciate it.

Jeff, I've got a buddy who is a patent attorney. I'll ask him. But, I don't think you could copyright a certain shape. Look at Simon Anderson. He did the thruster set up which revolutionized surfing. If he had a copyright on the thruster design, don't you think that every single shaper would have to pay a royalty to him? Or buy a license to use his design.

I'd appreciate that Matt, I think that it's pretty common in that industry. Mostly, I want OUT of this mess with the two parties.

Jeff;
I have no idea if such a thing exists. Maybe it's just the honor system that may have been breached.

Possibly, I understand that emotions run high in situations like this, but unfounded acqusations or intimations only serve to weaken this community.

Anyway I have removed myself from this mess and I am disappointed with how this is being handled. In virtually every disagreement that I have understood there was more than enough blame to go around.

I trust that Mr. Vernor and Mr. Price resolve this issue in a manner that is respectful of each other and the community, at large.

In this cases helps only one thing, make your ideas cheap and in big numbers. Sooner or later somebody will copy and massproduce it.

We've been out a couple times this year here in the Portland area. The columbia river temps are around 42, air around 56. Been pretty nice up here the last couple weeks.

Made my first run March 1st. Was a chilly 60.3 water temp and 80 air temp.... HAHA

Guess the wake wasn't too bad for a DD considering I only had the driver and spotter.. Def too small for the smaller boards.

It's been amazing up here in Seattle. Yesterday we hit Alpental (a local ski area) in the morning and had a foot of fresh, then drove back home and wakesurfed in the afternoon in very cold but very calm water.
