I think it will be Phillip Solven, with the way hes been ridin. But Iam not counting out Mr. Adkinson. I think he will have a great 06 season. What do you think?
Old     (jarrod)      Join Date: May 2003       11-17-2005, 10:11 AM Reply
Soven for sure. Trevor Hansen continues to make gains every year. Rusty too.

soven no doubt. if any one is going to catch him it will be harf. and I think PB will tear it up cant wait!!!

Though I would love to see SOB give it a shot Soven is the man to beat. Cleaned up big overseas and is only getting better,

Parks! Oh wait, does he still board?

Andrew if his back is healed, Soven will be there and you can't count out the boys from down under, they well be comming off ther tour and will be contest ready. That said I'm picking Rusty. Jr. Men's Robby Carter, Dan Waldon, Rhett & Austin Hair will share a lot of podeums. Reed Hansen also unless he just skates.

Rusty.... That kids going to train like a mutha... I'd say he's almost a lock. No way is he going to go out to Soven. He wants it more...

"I think PB will tear it up..."???????????????????? What has he done it the last two years???????????????? Parks is still a good freerider but I don't think he is goin to win any stops or even get any top 3.
I think Rusty is the man for 06. Soven is a great comp rider. But you can never count out the Auzzie boys. I think J.D. could take a stop or two also.

I think when PB is ready to rule again, he certainly could pull it off.

wow unbeleivable, parks has taken wakeboarding to a level that NO ONE CAN Still touch. HANDS DOWN>>>>>> If anyone doubts him has prolly never seen him ride. Parks is the the T.

Disagree on PB. Five years ago yes, no longer.
Better rider before his pro model came out. He ruled it on the CWB/FM shape.

harf in pro. either rhett whatley or brett lee in jr mens.

Kind of surprised nobody has said Harf. He's beaten Soven and all the other guys a lot of times and there's no reason he shouldn't be able to in the future.

What about Pro Chicks?? Will Dallas totally dominate again?

Wow, I saw the photos from his double up contest this year, looked like his pro model was working ok to me.

Magellan. He won the tour two years in a row on HL. Including last year!! What do you mean five years ago?
Old     (magellan)      Join Date: Feb 2003       11-17-2005, 6:38 PM Reply
Meaning he can't compete against Soven and Harf and Adkisons level.
Old     (jarrod)      Join Date: May 2003       11-17-2005, 6:42 PM Reply
1 year ago he beat them. I'm struggling to understand how he is now below their level.

Ok Rany I'm gonna throw this one out there for ya, I know you wanted to say it: Alex Scagliotti for junior mens! Just kiddin with ya, but I'm sure he's not far off. Anyway I just wanted to say hi to you and him, I'll be seeing you in the summer.

SoCalrider, PB was riding with a bad knee all last year. He owns the sliders on the tour, don't count him out.
Old     (blabel)      Join Date: Jul 2001       11-17-2005, 6:46 PM Reply
Whoever consistently stands up their passes.

There are 5 or so that could easily win given the above statement.
Old     (twakess)      Join Date: Mar 2002       11-17-2005, 7:17 PM Reply
Parks could do it if he set his mind to it. I think we might see Darin cleaning house again. Think about it he can do all the tricks and he is hungry no pro board and Obrian left him out to dry because he was injured. Seems like he has been lurking.

Grant, one reason byerly left the comps because they were not scoring him extra for grabs and doing stuff switch so he left the comps. Now it a must to grab the board and do stuff switch once again he was ahead of his time.

I would also like to see the tour more like a skate board comp. Falls don't hurt your score and give them like 3 min to free ride not a up and back. I bet we would see some crazy stuff then.

It depends on how they judge this year. If they go back to emphasising style over tech then Harf. If Tech over style then Soven. Rusy will be there either way as will Sanders. They both train on and off the water very hard and have shown they can compete. I love Lidburgs style.
Women- Dallas if not hurt and Emily with Barret ruling the sliders.
Wakeskate- Daniies and Philip.
Jr Men- Hair and Errington. Hair has the most style. Adam a 9. Jimmy need more style but is young and coming up so he will challenge.

Reed? He and Hair both impressed by wakeskating and wakeboarding. 2nd and 3rd on tour in Jr men and Reed on podium in wakeskate at tour while Hair got 5th at nationals and won worlds.
Wakeboarders at worlds really impressive too. Maybe we willl see more double hitters.

PB's got some mad skillz hes definately a sleeper...Harf's a shoe-in....it will be a differnt story in shapiro and murray come back those 2 are super tech and go huge....

I'd say Jeff House in Jr. Men's, if he can stay healthy and quit night-riding, lol.

Parks had a bad knee all last season... To think he wont make a single top 3 in '06 seems recockulous to me. It's more a matter of IF he wants to make top 3 then if he can!

On that note I want to see Ruck, Sean OB, and maybe Rusty on top!

id love to see murray have an awesome year! i think parks is definetly the type of guy that when he wants to be on top again he will be..

but someone just mentioned ruck - the same could be asked of him. wins the pro tour and then...?

although i agree that it seems impossible to think of pb as out of it, especially as there are tricks he's doing that no one else can (tho that can be also be said of soven and sob), pb's health can't be anywhere near what it used to be and as evidenced in the past, the pro tour can get immune to cash-it-all-in tricks like his double half cab or even a consistent level above others (shapiro). also his dominance on the rails isn't as complete as it used to be.

Jeff House has not aged out of jr men, but will ride pro in 2006

Top dogs will be Trevor, Rusty, Andrew, Soven, Harf, Sanders, & Watkins.

I think the PB issue is not his health, but his focus. Not PB unless he can concentrate on wakeboarding.

Now that you talk about Robert Soven, he is also going into jr mens this year. That kid kills it on sliders. Will be someone to watch in the future for sure. That kid is a little machine!
Derek Conway, one to watch, coming back from a knee surgery. Is Nick Jones still in jr mens?
Pros...Rusty, Phillip,Harf,Andrew, JD,Trevor and freshman year Danny Thollander.
Women: Dallas, Emily and Melissa

These names may not win the most contests in '06, but I hope that they will be on the podium at some point during the year.

Nick Taylor -Wakeskate
Austin Hair - Wakeskate & Jr Men (Pro?)
Alex Hamrick - Jr. Men
Adam Fields - Pro
Maeghan Major - Womens

IMHO - Dallas might not reign supreme in as many comps, there will be more women out there kickin it up. Megan McNeil, Emily

For the men, guys like Jeff Weatherall, Andrew Adkison, Grubb, Henshaw and Rusty.

I think you'll see Megan killing it in Wakeskate... she doesn't really wakeboard anymore, and she's been working on all sorts of kickflips and 3 shuvs on the skate.

I think Barret will compete with the women this year. Copeland, Friday, Majors and Pearlman are my top picks. Majors will add another sick trick and put down some awesome runs. Barret will school everyone on the obstacles plus show huge improvement in wake to wake. Of course Dallas and Emily are Dallas and Emily. I think we are going to see some new talent step it up too. Maybe this is the year the women get to show why they should have 5 stops on the tour.

WHERE's the LOVE.... I can't believe how blind many people are to how AWSOME Josh Sanders is.... This guy kills it ALL YEAR in AU. then comes here wins the tour and is barely mentioned in this thread. I got to meet Josh a few years ago when he was a young guy hucking tricks around and not much of a threat. This summer I was lucky enough to get to ride with him a few times. He's focused, in the prime of his career, healthy, and can kill technical tricks with machine like consistencey and style. It wouldn't suprise me to see him hit a 1080 soon. I got my cash on Josh for next year...

My vote is also with Josh Sanders.

Real nice guy.

He even made it to the Moomba Jamboree in Clermont, Fl (where Trevor Hansen is from)last May to hang out with us wanna-be's for a few hours.

As for the girls... Keep fighting for second place... Alliance tried to make it seem that the door was open for someone to hit a few tricks she doesn't do right now and steal a contest... the truth of the matter is Dallas has a ton in the bag you don't see her do in contest. She hasn't needed it. Like the smart competitor she is, she protects her earned spot on the podium and backs off to preserve the win. No different than any other professional athlete should/would do in any sport. She goes HUGE and way is tougher than you would believe. I taped her a couple days this summer and she was trying 7's wtw and even some double inverts. She got slammed so many times my head hurt. I'd like to see more girls at her level but haven't seen anyone even close... she's tough as nails. My money is on a sweep for her next year.
