Just got kicked to the curb by SKI-SAFE

so a month ago i called skisafe and informed them of my new tower and speaker system. They said "no problem" you're deductible will now be $1k and the premiums will stay the same. sounds okay right! Today i got a letter from them stating, notice of non-renewal for under writing reasons. This sucks, I've never filed a claim or anything. Does anybody have recommendations, i have until June 08.

I'll have to check out boat us, i just called progressive, can't believe someone in Ohio is still answering the phone at 1am. they gave me a quote of $281 for the year, incl'd towing, replacement value of $20k. Does that sound ok?

forgot to add, the boat is a 01 fourwinns 180 4.3L v6 with a tower

since it's not to bad, might call them back tomorrow and be done with it. at least progressive is cool with the tower.

I just got a policy through voyager marine for 540 for 70k replacement value on the Tomcat.

wow, 540 sounds good for 70k. i'll check'em out. found out ski-safe, which is the boat div for geico is going to stop insuring boats with after market towers. i guess its time to change my home,auto,umbrella and boat ins.

We've had nothing but problems with SkiSafe over the years. We worked closely with their management to make sure that hydrofoils (SkySki & AirChair) would be insured with their policies. They assured us there would be no problems. They even work with us to insure the Fly-ins.
Then we had a large number of people either get dropped because they were riding foils, or get outrageous quotes because they had a $4000 SkySki included in their policy (along with a $60,000.00 boat). Makes me wonder if their such a large company that the right hand has no idea what the left hand is doing.

I use Safeco. Rates are comparable & coverage is a lot better.

Bill, I'll add it to the list (safeco), yeah skisafe left a bad taste, I'm thinking the same thing regarding skisafe & how they lack in being consistent with their policy decisions. I'm sure you know warren buffett owns geico, must look at the losses daily. anyways I just got off the phone with boatus. they want $305yr. so far i have progressive for 280 and boatus for 305.

my fourwinns is insured for 21000 through state farm that includes the tower I pay 248 including on water towing and roadside asst. and a 500 dollar deductible. i got my coast guard safety cert and that got me 5 or 10 percent off
