I need some help from people with Malibus. I'm getting ready to buy a new boat and i have it narrowed down to two boats. They are both wakesetter 23 Bev's. The first one is an '05 that has 4 ballast and a manual wedge. It has kickin' stereo and about 145 hrs. The second is a '06 and 4 ballast and a power wedge. It has an ok stereo and about 205 hrs. There is about a $3000 difference in price between the two. Both are in great shape. Which one should i go with? Oh ya, the '05 will cost about $2000 to ship here and i can pick up to '06. Thanks.
I would think the power wedge would be worth it from what I have read. People seem to really like that option. Is the price difference 3000 after shipping or would the net price difference only be 1000. The 06 also has two extra board racks and a bimini which would be desirable options and would add to the cost of the 05 if you added these. Both look great, good luck with your choice.
They both have tower speakers which are nice, and enough for me i dont need a super kicking stereo. no doubt the boat and trailer on the 06 look nicer, and it seems to have a bimini and extra board racks.
im not a boat guru but i dont think 50 hours is a night and day diffrence.
Oh, and the fact that you can go and test drive and look over the 06 in person is probably worth a good bit too. The bullet style cans on the 06 look better too in my opinion.
there is a bimini on the 05 as well. its just foled up on the tower. if you look close you can see it. the power wedge is an awsome feature. i have friends with both the power and manual wedge. you can fine tune the shape of the wake with the power to make it a little bigger and steeper. the 06 is the way i would go. the stereo is something that can be done later down the line and set up the way you want it.
