Rack mounts for a 90 Sanger DX... any thoughts?

Rack mounts for a 90 Sanger DX... any thoughts appreciated

Looking at making some wakeboard rack mounts for my 90 Sanger DX, which has no tower.... Here is an image of what I am thinking: http://www.goerlichmedia.com/board_rack_mount.jpg

I figure that I can mount this to the top rail of the boat about 18"-24" behind the drivers seat (so as not to be in the way). Here is the boat: http://www.goerlichmedia.com/dsc_6560.jpg

Wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this approach. I'm trying to get 4+ boards of the floor of the boat and make room to move around and possibly add some sacs.

why don't you buy a pylon rack they hold 4 boards and then they are up and out of the way. Plus it would be alot cheaper to buy one then to have one made.

Yeah... I considered the pylon rack, but there are a couple of things I don't like about them.

- The boards are still in the way and require ducking around them.

- Seems like the tow line would get caught up in the boards.

- The water off of the boards still ends up in the boat.

I figure I can buy the fingers for $180 and get the mounts made for another $35 or so.

Check out Pyramid mfg on ebay. they make quality stuff for a great price.
