I think it looks great. I really like the down firing speakers. I hate where the drivers speaker is in the newer SAN's. I can never hear anything from there and if somebody is sitting in the observer seat you can't here that one either. (Message edited by actiondcpd on August 12, 2005)

Charles, NICE! I really like that down-turn for the end 2 speakers, those are the touches that make the custom boxes really stand out!

the box will have realy good sound but i don't think it will be as loud as the NVS. We work with the NVS a lot and those things are just crazy loud.

Cool to see you did the down fireing speakers, I havent seen to many people doing this and I dont know why, I love the sound shooting down into the boat. You can doo all the speakers in the world shooting back but when you throw the Bimini up you realy notice a differance in sound loss due to the bimini blocking the sound. With the downfireing speakers you have plenty of sound. Nice charles!

Nice looking shape. I also like the idea of the downfireing speakers. Post some pics when it comes back from the paint shop. I feel for the painter bondo and filling all the lovely pin holes.

we have them just about ready for paint when they go out. All the paint guy has to do is a quick primer and wet sand and they are ready to shoot. We would shoot them in house but the shop is to dusty.

charles thats nice to hear. I have painted many boxes. Some ready for primer and then some that take a good day just to get them primer ready. I have found a awsome primer. Its called evercoat feather fill. One coat is about like 2 to 3 of reg primer.

just curious, how does something like that sound as opposed to a set of NVS addictions or 1010s?

See above. NVS will be louder further out, but this box will sound crazy loud in the boat I'm guessing from the 4 downfiring 6.5s. Awesome looking box, do you have any pics of the whole boat with the box on it?

I will get more pics after the wek-end when we get the grills up. To compare this to the NVS would not be fair to either of the two, two whole different sounds. Morel makes one of the best high-end car audio speakers on the market. They have such a warm sound and are crazy loud at the same time. The NVS will project sound farther back due to the horn and loud speaker design. Don't get me wrong, this many 6 inch speakers running off 1000w amp is plenty loud inside and behind the boat.

Grant: They are the Integra Ovation 6. A coax speaker with a two inch voice coil.Sound sweet. Jon: I can find out what tint it is when they get back from the week-end, looks lick it might be in the 35% range
