Jeff, A wakesurfing angel just contacted me and it looks like I'm back in the game.

We need to talk.

Please call me at home (best at ~7:00 PM EST). Email me at home if you don't have my number - it's the @AOL.com address

Check this site out:

http://www.centralflboating.com/

Jon Harrison, if you have made any progress at all towards a wakesurfing tournament, please speak up and let us know your plans so I'm not stepping on your toes - things are going to happen fast. I have tentatively scheduled three wakesurfing events in Orlando.

Thanks again

That's a small lake with very limited access, but would work pretty well for a tournament.

wmk, thanks for chimimg in.

Anyway we could rope you into being a volunteer at one of these events?

If this comes together, it is going to be part of Malibu's Just Ride Tour held at CFBC

If anyone in the Orlando area is willing to help, please let us know.

wmk,

If this all comes together (and we will know in the next couple days), these tournaments will be part of Malibu's "Just Ride Tour" and will be held on Lake Barton at the Central Florida Boating Center facility.

Dates: June 16, July 14 and September 8, 2007.

Oops. I posted the above photo of the walker board in the wrong string!

I'm getting my events confused...must be related to turning 53 years old.

This photo should have appeared in the string about Skiers Choice associating wakesurfing with the jamboree.

Alan, I didn't contact you this year cause, for some reason, I thought you sold your biz.

Your two donations last year were a big hit!

hey Ed,
I did sell Awakesurf, but the guy backed out.
I started a new company Area 53 or
A53. Look for some cool stuff comming out for the surf expo in Sept. I'm ahead of schedule. I thought I was going to have all my gear ready before the convention, but things have been going ahead of schedule for once in my life.
look foward to my new gear, come this fall.

Hey Ed,

No new info on this post in a while. Are these events still on?

I don't know.

Last I heard the AWSA was discussing it with the dealer.

I left it at that and haven't heard boo about it in two and a half months.

I have made several phone calls. And sent emails, but can't force something to happen. Busy folks, I'm sure.

that is a nice board. Mike Walker does some great stuff.

The guy who won it walked around for an hour hugging it and his wife told him it was going to be hung on a wall and never see water.

No worries Jeff. I know you did everything you could to make it happen.

Yeah, I did talk at length with Chad yesterday...which reminds me I need to send him all the rules and organizational stuff. They are GUNG HO to bring that contest to fruition.

It looks like it will happen as part of the Malibu Just Ride series.

That's great news!

I must admit, I kinda gave up on it happening and thought I smelled smoke coming from my posterior.

Count me in as a volunteer.
