Ryan, your pictures are awesome ... they don't look like point-and-shot camera shots especially your first one! Very nice job with your lighting

I love the one of the kayaker on the rock! And if the dude in Larry's photo was tad higher it would look like he was tail pressing the bridge!

E.J. - no Agavero or Tres Generaciones? The shot of the horses at the track is my fav. Ryan, nice strobe work. What were you using on those shots?

SB800 for most of them. The kick one was with a small strobe set my friend brought into the studio one day. Not sure what kind they were but I know they were kinda small but did the trick! By the way, I saw some of your shots on wheels and wax!

Mad at myself I cut the boat off in this one. Hey Swass, Just looking to help you out. Read about rule of thirds for photography. You don't want to have your subject dead smack in the middle. Makes for a boring photo or as photogs like to say... a snapshot. http://digital-photography-school.com/blog/rule-of-thirds/

Joe, you gotta love that DX10.5 fish huh? My friends have it and I try to steal it whenever I can! haha. My 15 just dosent do the trick on a digital body. (sunset and kick shots) They look great, what did you set your white balance to on those sunset ones? 8K?

Go easy on the newbie, A.P. As bad as I am, I actually know that rule, but I failed to apply it. I'm taking my photog class next weekend, so I hope to be at least technically proficient. I don't think I'll ever have the "eye" some of you have. I'm sure being color blind doesn't help. I'll be happy if I can pull of a few in-focus action shots.

Just so I don't step out of line. Are people looking for critiques on their photos or just posting them. There is a world of difference between photos Umali, Jed and Ryan are putting up and the rest of them.

A.P., I will assume people are just posting, but you are more than welcome to critique and suggest anything you want on mine....(2, 3, 4, 6 & 7....everything else was just a throw in because I tried to get the first 10(11)) Knowledge is good.

A monthly photo assignment might be interesting if enough people participated in it. I've seen it done on a sports photography forum and they had some great stuff on there.

I am totally down. How do we want to go about this? Should we pick a moderator and submit assignment? Start a rotation of people starting assigments? Or we could just let it run wild. I am going to have to say... that is an AWESOME IDEA!
