Thanks for the compliments. I built several blanks to use on the other benches im building. The bench is very comfortable, thats why I wanted to build the skate. It is very stable, infact you can tip it over without alot of effort.
Im going to build another bench with for our annnual Houseboat trip. I think IM going to set It by the fire and tell everyone to write down a trick they havent landed first person to land it takes it home,

Brad,

I'm trying to follow how you made that skate look so awesome. first you made the mold out of foam, then what was the laminate maple that you used? Does it form to the mold, or did you have to wet it out to make it plyable.

That bench looks awesome. I wish I had the skill to make something that good looking

THe pictures are reversed. first I built the mold, then I had to glue the maple to make it wide enough for the skate. which was harder than it looks I had to run it thru my edger then glue them. then I put them in the vacuum press and that pulled them into shape. There are 8 layers of maple making it about 5/8 inch thick. I glued 4layers first then glued the other four on top of that. put it on a ban saw to cut the shape and started sanding. thanks for the compliments.
