Went out to Elsinore last Saturday. Had an appointment to try out Malibu's v-ride and vlx. I was very disappointed with the v-ride (small wake with full ballast and wedge). The vlx wake was a little better, but I didn't notice that much difference with the wedge down (of course, it was little choppy out there).
Then I was stupid enough to pass up a chance to ride the MB v3; my friends told me that the wake was phenomenal (with over 2,000lbs of stock ballast).
Then we checked out the X2! I didn't really care about Mastercraft that much, it's just the name right? But stepping on board the X2 blew me away, the interior stood out from all the other boats(Bling Bling). And the wake was nice as well, comparable to a vlx but not an MB v3.
Now my dilemma which one to get, a $50k fully loaded MB or a X2 for $65K. My girlfriend refuses to get anything other than an X2, but I can't justify the $15k difference.

John, X2 is far better quality than the MB(No question there). But I dont understand the disapointment in the VLX wake. Most people rate it as the best out of the box wake in the industry. Did you actually ride behind these boats? How choppy was the water? What level rider are you?
