So what's up with the Abosolute Platty MSRP going from $519 last year to $640 this year? Has the street price gone up that much as well and what is the difference between the 06 and 07 models? I am coming from the old Premier shape and now I'm on a 3DS. Would the Absolute or Transcend more fit the style of the boards I've been on? -Thanks

im not sure about the price question, i was wondering that today too. in 06 everything seemed to be cheaper for cwb, if u look at 05 everything was more expensive the absolute platty in 05 was $590. i would think that u would like the transcend more it is a fast board like the 3DS and kinda has the same type of fin configuration. the transcend has a 3 stage rocker but it can also be argueed to be continuous because it is suck a small flat spot. hope it helps.

Hmmmm.... don't know about the pricing increase?!?!?! Apparently there is about $100 worth of carbon fibre in each platinum board (hence the price increase over the foam board). No changes from the '06 to the '07 but graphics. I'm not sure about the 3DS as it's more like the Faction than anything, but from the old Premier you could go with either the Absolute or the Transcend. Personally (also an old premier rider 4 X over) I like the Transcend better. I'd say the speed is similar to the Premier, but better pop and better landings. Honestly, and I rode a Absolute for a year, I don't think there is anything better about the Absolute than the Transcend. I'm sure someone else will comment on that, but I really, really like the Transcend.

I've ridden both the absolute and transcend this season, I'd say go with the transcend. The absolute is more like the new premier shape, it's slow and has a real straight up pop. The transcend is faster, has a more consistent pop and lands softer.

I just got the '07 Transcend 140 recently. Sick board. I've been riding the original Premier shape for years. The Transcend definitely lands very soft. I also like the consistent pop and slightly faster feel. It took me a while to get used to the way it releases off the wake for inverts, but that's probably just because I've been riding the original Premier shape for so long. After I got used to it, it feels a lot more consistent to me. P.S. Don't be an idiot and have your board fly out of the racks a week after you bought it and damage the rail. That sucks. Danny

I have an 07 Absolute Platinum with only six pulls on it for sale, no pics yet. It has a couple of small dings in it from being moved across the country (twice) and going to florida (once) so I could probably cut someone a deal if interested. Make me an offer, I could get pics up in a day or two. I got my hands on my beloved 03 platty and I will be riding a slingshot as well this year.

I'd posted a couple weeks ago for peoples comments about CWB boards because I was going to start riding them (after a 9 yr absence)and wanted to know peoples thoughts. I am glad to say that after trying a couple of their boards I confidently went with the transcend. Great pop, supper soft landing (really soft). The board has speed - but is controllable so you can really regulate it. I did notice (this may have just been my board)that their base core is not as durable as some others. But $100 dollars more for 1 less lb is retarded (again my own opinion).

^I think its a significant difference in how the board rides being 1 pound lighter.

They are the exact same price from 06 to 07 the 640 is the Msrp and the 519 is the minimum add price, there was no price increase for 07 over 06. Eubanks get on the 07 Transcend and give it a go, you will love the board it does it all GREAT!!

Midwestwakeboarder.com, I have an 03 platty too. What are the big differences between the 03 and the 07?

They set the MSRP high because of their warranty policy. If you break your board after 2 years, you have the option of buying a new one at half msrp.

TXNSKR, Evan or Jrod can give you the more technical answer but the shape is totally different. I consider the 03 to be looser, faster, more pop, and softer landing....its definately a wider board.

rode a marius about 2 hours ago for the first time. a little slower but nothing will compare to a roam as far as speed. its the fastest board on the market. but i did like the marius. popped good, was loose when you needed it to be, just seemed a little small for me and the bindings too close. i ride the 144 roam and the marius only goes to a 140. if you try a roam get a 144. ill be in socal next week.maybe we can get together and get a ride on.

ill be in town 13th to the 15th possily through the 17th. havent decided yet. midwest- slingshot is half way between a normal board and a roam. its got fins so its not a roam. i gurantee the best rider cant fly around a turn doing a sideways nosepress on a slingshot
