I have an 05 roam and this is the third year riding it. It seems like it is less poppy then i remember. Does anyone else have experiance with these boards loosing pop after a couple years like a snowboard does.
the more you ride it the more noodle like it becomes. i tend to like it this way better because you have to ollie more like a snowboard to get the pop you want. also edging more on the tail and flexing it out as much as possible helps too. i have actually been doin my own r&d with my board by screwing allumnum stringers on the board between the bindings to stiffen it up in the middle but keep it soft in the tip and tail to get better pop out of it. i cant say i recomend you doing it because it probably will void your warranty.
gettingolder, just my opinion but the roam has great pop. If you know how to load the flex of the board, when you release off the top of the water the board recoil will give you more pop than normal. PEACE!!!
I found that i could pop better with the roam then a normal wake board. I guess it probaly time to pick up a new one. Three years out of a $100 board is fine with me. Im looking for a 150 covenent but havent been able to get my hands on one yet. Swami- The first one i had broke in the middle and the bottom riped off right as i hit the wake. I had only rode that one for a couple months. Took it back to the store and they handed me a new one. The roams have a lifetime warranty so you should be fine.
