I am having a problem when i cut out on toeside... i cant seem to get my front leg to even out with my backleg... which is causing my board to be high up on the front end and when i approach the wake it is not balanced so throughout my jump my backleg is way lower than my front leg... i have tried a few excersizes to get it down and i have a friend that is doing a great job helping me out but just wondering if anyone has ever had this issue or has any ideas of how to fix this... thank you!

Keep the rope on your hip...centers your balance and weight. try not to lean back against the boat too much, just enought to build some rope tension.

best advice i've ever taken and applied to my TS riding is to take the same TS cut into the wake as you do when you're cutting away from the wake to make a HS jump, make sense? and like onlyvdrives said keeping the handle pinned to your lead hip will allow you to more evenly distribute your weight on the board

have some one push you from the back, with out letting you know exactly when hey are going to puch you. Whatever foot goes out to stop you from falling is your dominate foot.

wait... i aleady have a dom foot... i didnt mean for that to sound disrespectful but i duno how else to say it haha

Your problem is that your right arm being dominant is pulling your body out of position. When cutting out on your toes, your left arm should be doing most of the pulling. If your right arm is doing the majority of the pulling, it will tend to turn your shoulder toward the boat which turns your hips, which forces you to lean back on the tail in order to keep an edge at all.

i barely hold onto the rope with my right arm... anytime i almost fall and end up with one arm it is my left arm and anytime i go for a one arm ride its my left arm... i duno why that is prob cuz it would be weird to ride left foot front and right arm haha :-p but yeah most of the tension is in the left arm...

Shoulders play a huge role in what your legs are doing as well. typically if you drop one of your shoulders down it will cause you to bend your leg and straighen you opposite leg to compensate for it. You should take some video so we can see whats up!

Jason nailed it!

I think its mentioned in Detention or Higher Ed, but the simplest advice I've found is to try to put the handle on your butt. Its easy to visualize and will force you to turn away from the boat and get you outside the wake.

i have the same problem some times, especially when jumping switch HS. When you're edging for your jump, keep the weight even in both your feet. I used to think I did that, but then I thought about it when I was edging and i wasnt. Try not to lean on your back foot so much when your cutting out. And when you edge, start slowly, digging with your heels and increasing your board angle into the wake. The handle should be centered in your body (width wise), it shouldnt be more to your front hip, and then height wise it should be between your waist and your hips. And when you stand tall, remember to do so equally with both legs.

Hope what I said made some sense and that it helps you!

it makes sense and i appreciate everyones input... and i have tried to put more weigh on my front foot to even it out.... however easier said than done... we spent about 30 min trying to get my to do that and no matter what i did it just wasnt working. does anyone have any drills or ideas.. one of the things we did was slow the boat to about 12-16 mph and had me work on boardsliding it down the lake to get me used to the even distribution of weight instead of being on edge which i think will help.... just seeing if anyone has tried anything else..

The Book DVD has some great edging drills in it. You might think about picking it up.
