Hello,
I tried wakeboarding once last year and enjoyed myself. Now I want to buy a good beginner board to ride this summer. Keep in mind I have only tried it once, so I am truely a beginner. i was looking at the CWB Nirvana with Mobe bindings. Would this take care of a newbie's needs for a summer or two?

Thanks.

That board/bindings will be fine. Though after some time, you might want to upgrade to something a little more high performance. I suggest paying that bit more for the "Pure" with "Torg" bindings. Still easy to learn on, but won't hold you back.

Thanks Kristian. I did look at the CWB Pure, but it is $200 more (twice as much) and did not seem like a learner board. I want something to goof around on and if I like wakeboarding it will be a boat board later on.
The price I found on the CWB Nirvana makes it extra attractive at $220 shipped.

have a look for the 2003 inferno, same as the pure, just a year older. Should be able to pick it up on sale.

jones, i was in the same position last summer and that is the exact board and bindings that i went with only it was the 2003 modle...after using it a couple months i found that this board is perfect for beginners

the bindings aren't all that great but good enough for a couple of years...they just dont hold up too well... let me know if ou hav any more questions

A good beginner board of choice for me would be an 2002 or 2003 O'brien Swindle. You can pick them up for real cheap but don't get the O'brien morph bindings because you'll break the straps and they aren't very supportive. Good luck and you'll be doing whirleybirds before you know it! :-)
