Well my question is basically what is the best program, and most user friendly, for editing photos? A price and a place to buy it would be nice. I need something worth getting, and that my mom can learn to use. She know nothing about computers.

The best would be Photoshop CS2 You can pick it up on E-bay for about 300.00

Or you can go with Photoshop Elements but it doesn't do as much as CS2.

Well 300 is a little out of my price range.

So I went to Fred Meyer today and saw Photoshop something 4.o for 100. Is that what I should try?

A version that old may have less features then elements.

That all depends on what you want to do with it.

Well I'd like to be able to do alot with it.
Layer photos, so that I can get multiple shots on one page. And lots more...

Check out Paint Shop Pro, it's a cheap alternative for Photoshop. However, they send out free copies of Photoshop Elements bundled up with things like digital cameras. Ask around, you might have a friend that has a Canon Digital that has PS Elements and doesn't know it.

Photoshop is an awesome program though.

Well hell I'll ask my mom if our Canon came with something. Thanks Swami, I didn't even think of that.

Okay so our camera didn't come with anything. So I found Photoshop Elements 4.0 on e-bay for about $30.00. Should I get it or wait for something better?

Something better for 30.00 ?

I still say you can find em for cheap. Let me see if I have one at home and I'll get back to you. I just moved and house is in disarray but I know where my Canon 20D box is and all the software is in it.
