Hey guys,
I test drove a mc 205v over the weekend and I had a question concerning the steering. First off the steering wheel was off a good 45 degrees when going straight plus it seemed looser than any other boat I've driven. It seemed to turn ok but something just didn't seem quite right. I also noticed that the prop looked fairly dinged up as well if this helps. Any opinions or info on whether this may or may not be an issue?
Thanks.

I was expecting to hear something like "the steering was really stiff" comment as that seems to be pretty common with that boat..and others. I've changed my steering cable in my 205v because of "stiff steering" and it helped tremendously! Did the owner just have a new steering cable put in? As far as being off 45 degrees, that can be fixed pretty easily by loosening the 4 bolts at where the cable connects to the steering column and re-aligning it...if that makes sense? I had to do that after installing my cable.

I'm 95% sure this owner had not replaced anything. The boat itself was pretty dirty and I was just worried that there may be a hidden issue in there somewhere.I had also heard before to watch out for the tight steering but never experience this before. Thanks!

Personally I would steer clear of buying that boat. If it was really dirty my first impression would be that he doesn't take good care of it.
