Lyman vs. Watson

I have been riding the Watson for 3 years or so and was curious what I will notice if I switched to the Lyman. I will be moving from a 134 Watson to a 139 Lyman. Any differences in how it tracks, pops, lands, sets? PS I ride my Watson without the center fin.

HOLY CRAP the watson and lyman are WAYY different. my dad rides the 08 watson and i ride the 08 lyman. i like the lyman because it is really loose. but the watson gets a ••••••••• of pop. the watson is a pretty great board without the center fin. but if you like a loose board you will love the lyman

From what I have heard the watson pops high wake to wake and the lyman pops more out than up. Plus the landings will be softer because it's a bigger board.

I rode both last year...
I love the lymans speed and pop
its way easier to get it going then the watson but it feels a little more out of control to me
the watson had nicer landings and felt smoother just not as aggressive as the lyman
but thats just my opinion
HUGE difference though
oh and the watson felt more slippery as well

i alternate between a lyman 139 and a 134 watson. the watson pops you way higher. I do not like the lyman nearly as much as the watson. Everyone i ride with prefers the watson over the lyman hands down.

I definitely rode my Lyman like, 3 times, said screw this, and went back to the Watson. My riding is about 40 times better on the Watson, so yeah. I then converted my Lyman into a slider board and destroyed the base of it at Odub over spring break. Great slider board IMO, but I definitely prefer the Watson for wake.

Basically, my recommendation is just to get a bigger Watson. Since you've been riding it for so long, a radical change like the one between the Watson and the Lyman could feel really messed up to you.

I switched from the watson to the lyman last year and i impoved tremendously

Thanks guys that really helped. I think I'll get a 138 watson. The lyman doesn't really sound like my riding style. Has anyone rode the new shane, from what I have heard it sounds even more aggresive board than the lyman.
