What small sub for small enclosure?

My setup at the moment is 2 wetsounds 650 and a pair of kmt6 tower speakers powered my a kicker 800.4 amp.

im perfectly happy with the highs and mids now i need some bass!

The cleanest and easiest instal is under one of the seats so i have limited space to work with. 11" high and 11" wide are the max by anytning up to 20" long. I already have an amp wired up that puts out 178.2 watts x 1 into 4 ohms and thats what i want to use. realky im limited to 8" or 10" subs.

Can anyone suggest a sub that will work well with this power in a small enclosure?i will build a fiberglass enclosure btw.

Well 11x11x15 @ .75 thickness you're looking at .70 cf which is about perfect for any 10" sub in that power range. The problem is it doesn't actually leave much room to mount the sub. An 8" may be more viable whereas you can go a smaller enclosure but you'll have less output.

Thats actually the exact amount for the WS XS-10FA. A couple others that come to mind are Exiles shallow mount 10 the XT10 http://www.exilecaraudio.com/product...rs/?model=xt10 also Rockford Fosgate makes slim mounts but I don't much care for those.

On a side note its tough to get the bass out of an enclosed area.

We are using our WS-XS10FA in a small box that is .75cf and it hits really good and it has the plastic cover to make sure the sub doesnt get hit or kicked. May be something to consider.

That gives me something to think about. The boats an I/O and the sub is going to go under one of the seats that are 2 back to back that convert into a lounger. One side is actually just felt so the bas will have plenty of room. What sub would perform best with only 170 rms?

Kicker KM10 4ohm in an 11x11x20x.75 sealed = .96 cu/ft. The sub is rated at 150 watts rms/300 pk.

And I do agree with HatenPain, its tough to get good bass out of a sub stowed in an enclosure, especially one with only 175 watts

This may not be enough for your set up, but I just installed an Infinity BassLink powered sub to my boat and I love it. Of course I just had 4 Polk db651s before, but this sub made my system come to life. It has a wired remote to change the amount of bass that it puts out. You can see it at the link below.

I like the JL W0 or W1 series of woofers because they're optimized in a .625 net enclosure (after driver displacement). But most important, they're low enough mass to sound great with 150 to 200 watts.

The key to getting that enclosure/woofer to sound good is to cut several louvered vents into your seating console that collectively equal the woofer's surface area at minimum. Orient the woofer to the side where its an equal distance from both vents. And don't place the woofer too close to an interior wall. If you follow these points you'll have minimal losses.

Elevate the woofer off the sole with 1/2-inch thick polymer/plastic pads no matter how you construct your box.
