Anyone ride a CC Martinique? (Pics and wake Q's)

Background, the Martinique is a DD Deep-Vee hull all of the way to the rear, same hull as the barefoot and nautique excel, fish nautique ect... just a different deck.

We have an 87 Martinique and are experimenting with weight to clean up the wake. I tried 250 on each side of the motor and it seemed to help but its pretty washy and inconsistent. It is a decent size with no weight but washy, my goal is to get the shape better, not add 26million pounds to make it huge... Any input? here are a few pics. line is 75ft and speed is 23-24ish? not sure my dad was hauling butt that day.... and i dont know why...

looks like the wake of my friends 23 foot supra. we added 2000 pounds to his, in what should be the right areas, and couldnt get anything out of it. his boat is soooo big its hard to sink. we had to run 600 in the bow alone just to keep the bow down and to keep the wake from curling over. i have to see the hull to see if its anything like my 2001. on my 2001 we run 440 on either side of the engine 440 behind it, 250 in the front and a full tank of gas. with yours id bump it to 750 or so behind the engine, 440 on the sides, 400 or so in the front and see how that works for ya. the more weight in the front the mellower the wake will be but it will also get harder. more weight in the back equals steep, but washy. ya gotta find the balancing point. and if you want a good wake you gotta run at least a thousand pounds. hope this helps some

its not at all like the 2001. same hull as the barefoot and excel nautique.

im going to try the one sac on the bow and the other on the rear seat and see how that does.

Kyle, it takes some weight in the front of the boat, that is key.

The martinique wake is naturally huge, but soft. I use about 400 in the rear and 600 in the front to harden it up.

The V of the boat is the problem, its very testy from one side to the other...I have found that a VERY slight corrective turn to the LEFT cleans the wake up on both sides. I think the rudder is just a touch off and this helps.

The key here is to sink the boat enough so that the V is deeper in the water and the (channels?) are sunk a bit.

These are the only two wake pics I have of my boat, not shining models of what the boat is capable of wakewise but we were riding 75 at 23.5 mph on perfect pass. BTW, highly reccomend perfect pass as the martinique doesnt hold speed naturally well.

Hope this helps, but front weight is key.

Here is a pic of my girl, and BTW it should be noted that the gas tank is in the rear of the boat and 42 gallons....keeping that full is always part of my ballast system.

Prop makes a difference too, the acme prop that is famous on the 2001's is what I run.

Your pic is the first decent pic of a Martinique I've seen. I had decided that a prerequisite of owning one was a genetic inability to take a decent pic of it.

That boat looks pretty cool. I especially like the tower you've got on yours.
