The Cell, One, Relik, and Rise boots come with the heat-moldable 'Intuition' inner liner, the Kai, Frank, Divide, Halo, and Luxe do not. That's got the be the majority of the price difference. -Steve

Basically, that means that the Cell, One, Relik, and Rise boots are all heat moldable, so the liner is contoured to the exact specifications of your foot, where as the Kia and others are not moldable.

jessica, do bring the price down so that there are more affordable close toe boots on the market besides the heat moldable liner, its not double lasted like the one, cell, and relik so just the over all fit isn't going to be as good, other than that there are a few minor little things but those are the two major things that bring the price down so much

the higher end boots also have a gel-like footbed and "feetbelts," which are a harness that holds your heel and ankle down

you'd think though by taking out that much material that the price would have at least stayed the same if not gone down a little instead of going up like 20 bucks i think

If that were the case we'd still be paying $300 for sandal straps bindings. Reduced weight means exotic materials/processes and thus more dollas. What does double lasted mean?

"you'd think though by taking out that much material that the price would have at least stayed the same if not gone down a little instead of going up like 20 bucks i think" Its like I asked my gf, why is it that the smaller the thong she buys and less material, the more expensive it gets. Sometimes you pay for the look of the product and not for the actual material it took to make it.

a last is a foot mold which the bindings are sewn around. so it probably means they do that twice somewhere in the process

the liner is lasted around what a mold of a foot and then the shell is lasted around the liner, it makes it so there are less gaps between your foot and the liner and the liner and the shell

Matt...heres the straight scoop from the man himself. Paul O'brien: There are 4 main differences; * Heat formed custom fit - $420 gets you the most orthotic intuition liners designed to be molded to a riders foot/lower leg. * Double lasting. A truer fit with the liner and the shell are integrated together as one. The truest fit/sizing of any boot in the industry. * R.A.D. Foam - $420 heel absorbing memory in the heel area. * Removable j-bars. These “kidney beans” are designed to fit around a riders ankle for even greater heel hold down. Thanks Paul...... Bill @ Performance.... BUY THE BILL BOARD.....IT ROCKS!!
