Prop Size

I currently have the stock prop (OJ 14x20 i think) on an 00 Xstar w/330 hp. I'm in need of a replacement but want to find one with better hole shot, I dont really care about top speed. Does anyone with my setup have any experience with this. Thanks

Go with an Acme 4-blade. If you want a better holeshot, get a lower pitch like 14x18 or even 14x16.5. Just be sure to watch your RPM's with a lower pitch prop.

Going with a lesser pitch prop like the 14x18 or 14x16(16.5) will allow the motor to spin up faster giving you better hole shot and will typically let the motor reach a higher RPM. That motor should have a rev limiter built into it so you won't/can't do any damage to the motor, even if you leave it WOT and it stays bouncing off the rev limiter it won't hurt anything just not a lot of fun.

14x16 or 14.5x16 The difference will amaze you!!
