Hey All,
I am about to push a button on either a 2011 Vibe 142 but I could get a 2010 Vibe 147 for about $110 less. I am 5'8 and about 185 (I know, I am a little chubby--I'm working on it!) anyhow, I am 52 years old, and where I now work in Orlando has a cable park about 10 mins away. I am only there a few days a month, but I plan to hit the park and practice .I am currently riding a 140 2011 Kink behind my boat in South Carolina, and I am not able to actually plant a backroll. I get over and stick the board but have not ridden one out yet. My plan is to get a Vibe so I can ride in the park and also use it on the boat. I want to practice the backroll this winter so I can hit it on the boat this spring.
So now that you have the whole boring story, What do think about the difference between the 142 vs the 147? It looks to me like 2" longer and .4 pounds heavier. Is there actually a difference between the 2010 and 2011? Any inputs would be appreciated.

OK, I couldn't wait for advice because I was not sure when the 20% coupon would expire. I got the 2011 Vibe 142 with the Vapor boots for $338 including shipping. For anyone wanting to get a 2010 Vibe 147 package try this with code G811 for free shipping:

That's a good deal for the 2010 Vibe 147 with the Vapor boots for $244!!! Yikes! I agonized over the deal, but my weight fluctuates, and when I am active, I am closer to 175 than 185, and I felt the smaller, lighter board would work well and its about "1" longer and 5" wider than my Kink 140. I have the Vapor boots on that as well, and I really like them.

Tom i too am 52 years old.I ride a 141 Marius behind the boat and a 139 watson hybrid at the cable parks.I'm 5'6" and weigh between 165 and 170.I would have chosen the 142 in the vibe.I have heard nothing but good things about it.I assume you are refering to OWC.Also you should check out McCormicks in Seffner Fla.It's just a ways down I4 before Tampa.EXIT 10.Best of luck. Here's a few pics at McCormicks.

Thanks Robert,
Yes I was talking about OWC. I will take a drive down to McCormicks sometime. Thanks for the input on the 142. I think the 147 would have been too big and aerodynamically it would have more difficult for the over the top maneuvers. Now that I made the decision, I can't wait to try it.

11 142 for sure. I just picked one up as well. First thing I noticed when I got it was that these boards are big for their size. I am 6' and about 175 and its perfect. I dont remember the exact details but I was told that there were changes between 2010 and 2011 and to stay away from the 10.
