Most people will tell you the X2 throws a superior wake. I have not ridden behind an MB though. Evan rides both. He could tell ya.

if you're looking for interior room/storage space, go w/ the mb. the wake isn't bad, but it's not great either. and please, for god's sakes, don't let the dealer convince you that the "stock ballast is more than enough." that's simply bullcrap. if you're looking for a sick wake, go with the x-2. the x-2 has a big, steep, clean and solid wake. it doesn't take as much as the mb, but you will need more weight than the stock ballast. the problem w/ the x-2 is that the interior is really small...right up there w/ the super air.

i had the old xstar so this is biased but we never ran out of storage room, there was slways plenty. Also put 300 pounds of lead in the front with 8 people and the wake is big and no matter how much weight you have in it the shape is perfect.

I never really got to be a huge fan of the wake of the small B-52, but we only had one day to play with it. The bigger boat (23V) is bad a$$. Hate to disagree with Joe, but on the bigger boat the stock ballast is all you need (that said the small boat needs more weight in the rear). The wake looks deceiving because it dips down in the trough and then builds back up. Charge the wake hard on one of those and you'll get booted in a big way. That boat got bagged by a lot of locals that rode behind it at bel aqua, but people have to remember the water is only 4 feet deep there. As far as the X-2..... Has to be one of my all time favorite wakes. Depending on how you weight it the wake will be perfect for beginners or any level above that. Right now we are running a 500 sac in the front (above the floor), 100 lbs of lead in the front and 100 lbs of lead on each side of the motor. The wake is really nicely shaped and lets you take tricks any size you want them. Just my .02, but I love the X-2. I'd take one anyday.

I have intimate knowledge of both boats, both riding behind and driving them. Go with the Mastercraft. It is a better performing boat with better resale value. The B-52 is well built, but the M/C just plain outperforms it. I won't "bash" the MB, but feel free to send me a message if you want very specific examples of what I am talking about.

Thanks for the help everyone. The guy with the 03 B52(w/ 90 hrs) will give it to me for 37-38k, maybe lower. The 2003 X2 has 350 hrs (stereo complete) and he will let it go for $34k. I think I will go with the X2 because I am not sold on the red flames as well as the 2003 MBs. I know the new ones are sick, but they still have the flames. I have been looking at boats for months now and I have yet to find an 2003 X2 for anywhere near that price. $4k less with a system already in it (2K) - X2 here I come. What do you guys think? M

do it! The X2 would be a better deal at the SAME price, not to mention 3k less!

Just my opinion but, 350 hours is not that many hours at all.

350 hours is nothing, for a V8 engine, we had one down here with 3000 hours on it and run great, as long as you do the maintenance on it. you should go with the X2, no bad feelings !! it s a great boat

Where are you getting a 2003 X2 for $34k? Not trying to steal your boat at all, but point me in the right direction!

Appreciate the input from everyone. FYI - Just returned from an auction called Adesa (that is the company name). My buddy is a wholesaler and we have purchased a few cars together. I have heard that there will be some nice wakeboard boats (repossessed probably) next month. That is where the guy bought a 2003 B52 and 2004 Wakesetter VLX. He sold the VLX right away and has the B52 still. I will probably pick up my X2 this weekend! TPARIDER - always keep your eye out on Ebay. That is where I first spotted the X2. I have seen several good deals slip away because I was looking for a steal. I passed on a 2004 Super Air for 39k in December! Good luck.. or you can try to find someone with a license and go to the dealer only auctions. Thanks M
