I am looking to get some input and advice on Illusion tower speakers. I want something that the rider will be able to hear but hopefully won't make the passengers in the back seat go deaf. I am also looking for something economically priced (I know it's a tall order). I would like to hear any feedback, cheap speakers or not. Thanks in advance!

Wetsounds Pro 80s for the illusion tower. $899 is a good price for the quality and loudness of the sound. Can't promise that the passengers wont go deaf.

Spend the money once go pro audio either NVS or Wetsounds. Had some cans last year that didn't cut it so I put new speakers in and didn't help. So I wasted money now I am getting some pro audio stuff cheaper in the long run.

Cheapest route is going to be Bazookas. They will mount to the bar the light is on. They run @ $350 for the 8" and $400 for the 10". I haven't heard them, but have seen pics of this setup and it does look good.

Wetsounds Pro80 for sure. You won't be happy with normal tower speakers if you hear the difference, and then like Ewing said above, you'll just have wasted money...

I to have wasted money on car stereo speakers in cans and boxes.
I currently have the Wetsounds Pro 80s on my tower.
They really sound great and do not blow the people out of the back seat if you have a v-drive.
If you have a direct drive, well maybe they will be blown away.
Go with the Wetsounds!!!!!!!

go with the nvs. they look good with the bu tower. i know you said economically priced but your boat does not look economically priced. just wait and save then buy the nvs. youll love them to death. remember buy once it saves you in the end. your boat is way to nice to put something cheep on the tower.

if you want to spend the money and want loud and a HLCD, wetsounds is a good one, and the company is from Texas too. if you want some great 6.5's for the money contact www.luckydevildesigns.com and we'll help.

My buddy has NVS Addictions on his 06 VLX with the illusion tower. They sound okay, loud for sure and rockin when you are riding behind the boat. The cans are big and you do hit you head when you are driving his boat and you stand up in the seat. I know first hand. It will be the same with Wetsound Pro-80, but I think they are a little smaller.

I have the Titan III tower on my 06 VLX and it is a much better tower in all ways, but thats another thread.

if you want mind loud music in the boat then the coaxial hclds will work great,......

if you dont want loud piercing music in the boat then get a non hcld design or go with the hcld in a seperate housing..

my vote is for the addictions. You get what you pay for. They fit the factory mounting spots where the pre-wire goes, and Duane is very helpful. As far as hitting your head, I have no scars.

Wow, How many wires do you have running up there and can you walk around in that boat.
Just a consideration.
Thank God we are all differnt.
Gives us something to talk about.

Plenty of head room belive it or not with the Illusion tower. I built the system not for the rider but for the iterior of the boatit self, Yeah I probably did not need to go with the other four on the front but when we mounted it up it just finished off the tower, belive me it looks sick let me see if I have a side view pic

The only problem I found when mounting the cans on the back bar you lose all your headroom, Thats we went forward.

Looks real nice though good job.

I just bought a set of Wetsounds Pro80s today at the boatshow, I got them for $670. I currently have the Bazooka 8s on the tower and I'm not impressed with them. They are good for chilling and listening to music, but for riding they suck. I'll sell them to you for $150, they've only been used once.

Shane - you will love the Pro-80's. Tim and the whole Wetsounds crew are awesome and stand behind their product. See you out on LA

Bond says: "I built the system not for the rider but for the iterior of the boatit self"

I'm sorry, but why the heck put 8 speakers facing rearward if not for the rider? Doesn't make sense to me.

I have one pair of Pro80's that are powered well - they are loud and clear at 80' and I only have two taking up space on my tower.

Definitely recommend WetSounds.

Yes - I did build the system the boat. Everyone has there own opion, AS YOU SHOULD KNOW BY KNOW. We added the addition four - (4) on the front because, I don't know why, "Looked kool" What ever, Yeah looked kool finished off the tower. Bla Bla Bla....... Works for me & THATS ALL THAT MATTERS.

I am also very happy with my one set of Pro 80s and it didn't take long to wire them.
But if you want more weight in the boat go ahead with all the speakers and 10LBS of wire.
Just my 2 cents.
Have a great day.

My vote is for one pair of Wetsounds Pro 80's. Why put little speakers all over the tower when you can buy a pair of 8" coaxial horn loaded speakers and get the perfect amount of sound back to the rider. I guess if you prefer to stand on your swim deck and untangle knots in your line the 6-1/2's are great.

Do the nvs. You will be happy.

If you go with NVS, you won't need to mount 8 speakers. You can hear every word from 100yds with a pair.
