Alright, here's the deal. I have had it on the water, but don't have any pics of it on the lake. Without ballast it does 55, loaded with 1300 lbs, goes 48. This is an 87 comp, 351 Ford with Rousch Racing heads, Power Plus dual plane intake, Holley 750 Double Pumper, MSD Ignition upgrade and Blaster Coil, Howards Cam, and GLM headers. It dyno'ed at 400hp. I also moved the engine foward and put a powerslot out of a master craft. Stereo has 8 6 1/2" (sorry, don't have the grillz on yet)and four 10" subs on the tower, 4 6 1/2" in the boat and two 12" subs under the deck. 5 amps power it to 4400 watts with a 6 farad capacitor. There are also four lights foward and teo back, and had LED lighting throughout. Weight consists of 200 lbs of brick in the ski locker, a 700 lbs fat sac in the rear and a 150 ibs sack in the center for balance. Also the speaker and tower weigh close to 250, the sbus and amp goes almost another 200. I also put a hydralic wake plate on it over the old manual one. Next time I am just gonna get a boat that is done, cause I think I have more than a new boat into ths thing. If anyone wants to ride, it will be in Phoenix all Jan thru March and we will be out almost everyday. Thanks for looking.

Like that JB Weld?? Thats called the guy that shipped them to me got me a cracked set and won't replace them. We wanted to go out on Thanksgiving, so I JB Welded it instead of floodin the boat. They went in today to get cast welded. Gotta do what you gotta do sometimes.

Just to be fair, I gotta give a thanks to Mike at Havel Engines for helping me and using his shop. And my buddies, Josh, Rick and David for giving an extra hand.

Man that sucks on the exhaust. If the guy who sold them won't send a new pair I think I would let every one on W.W. know who he is! I love the new style graphic you put on!

I would like to say something about the exhaust, but I am in business too, and it is never good to bash someone else. A friend of mine ordered the exact same exhaust for a Mercruiser and his was perfect. It is the only chambered exhaust that fits like a stock style and is a good product I feel. It is a 10-15hp bolt on with 4" exhaust. I think I just got a bad set, the cast wasn't right, and this stuff happens once in a while. I would just advise everyone to inspect products immediately for flaws. If more people have had the same problem, I would like to know, but till then, I still recomend these for an easy h.p. upgrade.

How much weight is on the tower?
Old     (speedy600)      Join Date: Dec 2006       12-04-2006, 9:09 PM Reply
About 160 on the tower - 6 1/2" are 8 lbs. each, the 10" are about 22-24, The tower weights about 90-100 lbs with the plate I put in for stability. I am considering adding a front brace, but that will ruin the look, but so far so good. Only bout 10 hrs on it.

what do those speakers sound like, i bought 4 of em to go in my boat just havent installed em yet. i like the fact that they are a 6.5" woofer, 1" mid and a tweeter and super tweeter all in one. not so sure about the subs on the tower, thats really puttin alot of weight up there. do the lows make it out to you when you are riding? i know the sub in my boat you can hear 80 feet back when the boat is getting ready to pull you out which i think is impressive considering its only one 10.

Something on that tower is going to break when you hit a few wakes. I'd hate to be sitting under that when it happens.

is that an old Malibu Illusion Tower?

Answer to questions -
Dennis, why to a comp?? Fortunally or Unfortunally, we have a diverse crowd or skiiers from running courses to footers to boarders. We ski about 200hrs per summer so I tried to make something that will do everything. And the tower was sort of a competition with the guys down the lake.
Kevin - The high's and mid's are great and extremely clear with high pass on an amp. The subs aren't as great as they should be, but sound pretty good at the dock. It helps behind the boat, but not as well as I thought they would. I think I get more out of the subs under the dash of the boat.
DRA/Brian- Ya it shakes a little, but we gusseted the tow and that solved most of the problems. It's really not that bad. I was scared the first time out it was gonna fall on me. I think I am going to add a front strut on it, just for protection. Hey DRA, don't make fun of my fat girlfriend, she aint a lady less she 280 j/k
Larzon - Ya, it is a Malibu Illusion Tower, picked it up cheap used - $100

Is that decal straight from supra, i would have thought it would be bigger on the comp. I need to figure out which one i want to get for mine.

Carb seems big for that hp and cubic inches bet it would make better power with 600-650 cfm. You did a heck of job I think that is cool as s**t. Not saying I would do that to my boat but great creativity.
