Upgraded center ballast for X-Star?

Has anyone heard of an upgraded ballast system for the center ski locker for a 2001 X-Star?
I was told that a boat had it upgraded from its normal center ballast (I guess around 400 lbs) to a 600 lbs ballast.
I don't see how the center locker could handle the increased volume.
And if it was just a matter of adding a larger bag, why wouldn't they just do that as stock?

I have 2000 Xstar and I believe you are talking about the defective ballast system they had that was replaced. Mastercraft replaced my center ballast for free.

I'm curious about this question as well. I have an 01' x-star and I dont see how a bigger bag would fit. I thought the center bag was only 250 lbs
