Does anyone use these? I am having work done and while it's off the trailer, they offered to put a guard on.
Is it worth the money?

Are you talking about the thing that goes along the keel?
Or does it cover the entire hull?

Yea, the only reason I would have a keel guard is if you like to beach your boat occasionally. But there can be other issues with doing that too, like bending the skegs under the boat (assuming your talking about an inboard) or sucking sand into the intake. Even dinging the prop.

It might be safer to get an anchor & a Sandspike & tie the boat a few feet out. At least in my case it is.

That's it... probably a good idea in the event I ever need to beach.

I put an 8' one on my boat. If I never need it that's OK. If I use it, I'm glad it's on.
This is another manufacturer.

I use the keelguard one. Lifetime warranty. If you beach your boat it's a must have. Sometimes the ladies have to go ashore you know!
