I was wondering how long is enough time to really flush the motor clean with fresh water once you get home?

At least 10 minutes. RPM's should also be about 400 above idle. Use a "salt away" solution after your 10 minute flush. Run the solution through the engine until you see the soapy bubble start to come out the exhaust. Then shut it off. You want the salt away solution to stay in the engine so it can do it's thing. Your boat needs to be washed inside and out every time. You can not be lazy about this. Expect to spend 2hrs cleaning up after salt water use.

West Marine, Boat US, or any other marine retailer. There is also a brand called Salt Terminator.
