I'm looking into installing PP on my friends 1990 Rinker 206 with a 350 magnum mercruiser. Does anyone know if it will work on a boat this old or have any experience installing it on something like this.

it should work fine. It's carbureted, right? see the website for pics of a carb install.

Just because it will install doesn't mean it will work.

Call perfect pass and ask them. The water must be undisturbed before it hits the paddlewheel. A lot of boats (even wakeboats) have trouble because of hull shapes, fins, etc...

I installed PP on my old boat which was a 1984 Nordic Crestliner that had a V6 185 Mercruiser, worked like a charm.

I installed PP on a 2001 Wakesetter 23LSV as instructed by PP support and it did not work like a charm. The hull is a known problem for PP.

Yes it is carbureted. It looks like it should work according to the pictures on the website. Where is a good spot to put the paddle wheel on the I/O. The site says 10 inches in front of the engine. Do they mean 10 inches in front of the lower unit or in front of the actual engine? Has anyone had problems with the paddlewheel on an I/O?

I had a 21' Wellcraft I/O and installed perfect pass. It had a 5.7L V-8 vortec (carbureted). Lots of power for the size and weight of the boat (the dry weight was about 2700 lbs).

I never could get my perfect pass dialed in speed control mode. BUT it worked GREAT when I ran it in RPM mode and was worth every penny!!! Riding behind it with different drivers became a breeze.
