Trailer won't back up

Something is wrong with my trailer. When I try to back up the brakes are engaging. Has anyone had this problem and know how to fix it? It's an 04 MC X2 trailer. All of the lights work (brakes, blinkers, reverse). I need to get this fixed so I can ride tomorrow!! Thanks.

The trailer needs either power from the truck on the brakes or a special key to manually disengage the brakes. On the driver's side of the tongue, there is an opening that a half-moon shaped key goes into.

Check your ground. Has it worked before?

I checked the ground and everything. It was working fine last week.

I found the problem. When the storage place moved the tongue to the side they cut a wire in half. A lot of trouble shooting for a simple 30 second fix! Now I can wakeboard tomorrow! Thanks everyone.
