Does anyone know of any good quotes from a pro? I'm doing a speech I want to end with a quote saying something along the lines of "love what you do and do what you love." I just want to see if there is anything good out there?

love whaet you do and do what you love, was originally said by me, so you can just use that.

Wow, that really doesn't help me at all.

sort of a paraphrase but I heard Biker Shurlock say something like this "when I try a new stunt, I'm always almost 80% sure it's going to be safe"

Rusty has some words about wakeboarding at the start of drive.... it isn't the most fancy sounding quote, but is an inspiring type thing about wakeboarding.

I'm not gonna lie Eubanks that's been my least favorite quote on a video for me. It just seemed out of place.

Now that I am 37 years old, I like the one I have been using "Don't let your self get old and say I wish I would have................" I am sure I will still wish I could have done plenty of things though. Just can't afford to go to jail!!

Just watch Randalls section in Transgression. You can write your entire paper on his quotes.

I like when Randall said in I believe Alliance during his interview on his return to the wake scence, "If I can still walke when I am 50 I was not trying hard enough."

Love that quote.

"just go big" - Shaun Murray back in the day in I think it Switch 22??? could be wrong on the video but he was definitely eating skittles while saying it.

Up until about a month ago on Wikipedia was the following:

Wakeboarders have their own unique terms as mentioned above with the names for certain tricks. Other common terms are: "Take me for a pull" "Give me a tow" "I want to rip 'n ride"

I think you should use the quote "I want to rip and ride." Every wakeboarder uses that quote and it truly means so much to the wakeboard community.

So much inspiration in so few words.

End your speech with this:

I have only one thing to say to you today... it's a jungle out there. You gotta look out for number one. But don't step in number two!

What movie guys?!?! Ahhh yeah!

My favorite quote is from Keith Lyman off of the inside of the Push Process Cover: "inspiration comes from so many different things. Good water conditions, a sunset session, who is in your boat, how big the wake is, the status of your personal life, it's random and always different. I am continually seeking new and different ways to become inspired, sometimes it comes so easily and other times it's a struggle."

Maybe a little long for your paper, but I dig it just like I dig watching him ride.

"Things are gonna get away from the skiboarding. In contests we're not doing trick passes er anymore I don't think. And, uh, we're gonna be gett'n back to the roots of it you know? Spinnin', and... havin' fun with it. I think a lot more people are gonna start stickn' 7s and 9s and... who knows where it's gonna go... Last time we were out here no one was even thinkn' about 720s, or double ups, er... Man who knows where it's gonna go... AS FAR AS WE CAN TAKE IT."

"You have a good style or you don’t. you cant make yourself have style"

"Once you’ve got it dialed. The next step is to see how big you can take it"

"Insipiration comes from so many different things, good water conditions, a sunset session, who is in the boat, how big the wake is. The status of your personal like, its random, and always different, I am continually seeking new and different ways to become inspired. Sometimes it comes so easily, and other times it’s a struggle"

wakeboarding magazine from 1999 used to have a pro quote section, my all time favorite was "it doesn't get much drunker than naked".

Herman Melville said "It's better to fail in originality than succeed in imitation."

But I believe that it was Mike Weddington who said "Everyone has a favorite hole. I know I do."

a little off point but,

shapiro has some awesome ones in retrospect like "they all try to beat me, but im the best. they go harder and harder, and im relaxing out there and beating them all!" classic stuff from his dominance days.

"the sun is my game clock"

"It’s about gliding through the air, it’s about holding a grab longer than you think you should, it’s about landing in the flats, it’s about landing perfectly on the downside of the second wake, it’s about doing simple tricks that just have a flow and feel good to do, it’s about that moment you feel you’ve defied the laws of physics and beat gravity, it’s about riding at first light, it’s about throwing your buddy the iron fist after he lands a new trick, it’s about leaning on your toe-side edge in complete glass and seeing your reflection, it’s about getting on the water when fog is still covering the lake and riding in the clouds , it’s about the feeling that you get when you approach the wake for a new trick, it’s about pushing yourself out of your comfort zone, it’s about increasing the size of your comfort zone, it’s about the smell of new bindings, it’s about having the perfect set with dry hair at the end, it’s about taking the last set of the day and riding through the sunset."
