I have built a few speaker boxes, but I have never done a plexi window...I am curious what thickness people are using, how they are sealing the panel to the wood and any other useful information.

I have noticed that a few people have had a removeable panel for their box as well...how are you sealing these panels? weather stripping? just looking for some new ideas to try before summer.

And does anyone know any good sources for plexi (other than taps) in the Bay Area...(northern CA)

Thanks

Richard........I used 3/4" Plexi for the window on mine. I drilled holes through the Plexi and then built a false front (out of 3/4" MDF) and screwed the whole thing together. I used silicone between the box and Plexi to seal it up.

I was also planning on building two sub boxes with plexi windows. I am rebuilding a boat and putting a bench in front of the engine. I then on putting two boxes, on either side under the seats. I wanted plexi windows to lay flush in the bench front. Anyone done anything similar?

Greg
