any one know or heard of the real affect this might have on our recreational use of the delta? I assume it's so southern california gets more water, but im not too sure.

how much of the current delta would not be navigatble?

Black and Veatch's Concord office is doing the feasibility study for this project.

The plan would be to pull the water out clear above Sacramento. I am still unclear on how changing WHERE the water is pulled out will solve anything. It is the quantity of water pulled out that matters.

Besides, there are a more than a few studies that point to the high ammonia content in the effluent from the Elk Grove WWTP plant into the Sac River as the real cause of the Delta Smelt problems....

It is too bad we, including all the environmentalists, are not 1/2 as smart as we think we are. We don't really even know why the smelt populations are suffering...yet we think we know how to solve the issue.
