i've heard the malibu iRide throws a decent wakeboard wake, but how is it as a crossover boat. since there's no adjustable plate, is the the slalom wake a little too fat.?

My buddy bought an iRide earlier this year and I have been out in it a few times. It throws a really nice ski wake as long as you have a small crew and a light load. The wake not that big but it's a little on the hard side.

The wakeboard wake is very different from my boat (Nautique 211) because the iRide's wake has a short ramp with a steep lip. If you hit it correctly it boots you very well but if you miss the timing or hit it too fast you can blow right through it. This was with the center sack full and the wedge down. Another sack in the front and another in the back and I think it would throw a wake comperable to a VLX with factory ballast.

Overall I feel the iRide is the best crossover value in the industry (and I'm a Nautique guy!). I installed some stereo gear in the boat a couple months ago so I had a chance to look "under the hood". There's a reason Malibu sells more boats than any other manufacturer. The wiring systems are the cleanest I have seen, the glasswork is also done very well, they put a boat together very well at a reasonable price. I really wanted a Malibu this time around but the Nautique 211 just fit my needs a little better than anything in the Malibu line so I went for it instead.
