I think he was trying to say:

I felt compelled to bring up a subject that has been bothering me. It has come to my attention that some people have negative thoughts and feelings toward the state of Tennessee, and the 'rustically inclined' inhabitants therein. Personally, I feel that Tennessee is not only a wonderful place, but could justifiable be considered to be a leading state in the nation. I would like to hear other people's thoughts and feelings about Tennessee.
