Awesome event, I had a blast, and the best part it was free! Nothing is free these days, and its nice to see an event all about riding!!! Great times, and great people, and made some new friends

That is my Fulltilt Cobe pro model from 1998 with Sub Rosas :-) I saw that Cobe was going to be at the Rail Jam, so I dug around the basement and found it, and brought it for him to sign! He got a kick out of it, and said it brought back some memories haha.

This was my first in land/pool comp that I have attended. This was truly a great event for the people and free. Al, Jay (aka Beaver I think) and all the others who put this on, great job. The one thing that was a disappointment was the lack of attendee’s. I mean this is Sac town with a huge group of WW and Wakeboarding people in it.

I had to leave in the 4th set and was hoping to see who won.

I think there was a lack of advertising.. If I hadnt have been on WW, I wouldnt have known about this event.

Ya I second the lack of advertising. I didn't hear about it until today at about 2 from the guys at surf n skate. None the less I still had to make the trip and check it out. Pretty sweet event overall. How often do events like these happen?

never. this is the first winch event (that i've heard of?) that has ever been held in an actual swimming pool.

big ups to all that made this event happen!

Great job putting this all together Al Marchiniak, Jason Buffalow, and all the rest of the crew. Thanks to the sponsors, City of Sac for letting this happen, and all of the awesome riders for throwing down a great show.

This was such a sick event, I think Al Marchiniak did a killer job on the whole thing, lets hope we get to do this again in October. The turnout was killer and I got there at 3:45, I think this is the future of rail jams in Sac.

GREAT JOB AL, NOW FIX MY JEEP!!!

What kind of winch set-up is used for something like this? Me and the old man have been talking about digging our pond out bigger, a few kickers would be cool.

That is awesome, I like the fact that there are three hits and an entire pool. There is a pool in the area here that is wider and longer than that pool and has cement bleachers, would be sick to put something like this on. Any idea how to get ahold of this Al fellow?

Stephan- that "Al fellow" you're looking for posts here as WakeViolator.

The winches are made from gokart motors, and where the axle would be on the gokart is a spool with a ton of line. Sorry I cant be more helpful, thats just what I observed.

Yo J-Rod! Pool was around 5 foot most of the way, then dropped to 12 at the winch end (there used to be high dive's). No safety concerns like in other rail jams...concrete and hay bales are eliminated! If you crash you make that sweet splash sound we are all used to.

Yo Joe B! Gravity. The top three sliding sections of the rail (20', 16', 20') probably weighed around 150lbs. each. We did have a problem with the rail "walking" to the deep end, but managed to slow it down with lead bags (used for ballast) and some stratigicly tied ropes (#1 vertical to #2 vertical, and #3 vertical to #4).

thanks for putting this on Al! Any future events planned?

YES! I will try to have dates soon. Unlikely to happen this year, but there will be a number of them next year. I love what winches have allowed us to do.

Did you know that they used to have trick ski events in this same pool years ago?

What? no crash pics yet! What about some pics of beaver on beaver and the chest cup holder

Ben what happened to the Jeep other than the inside getting cleaned?

It was nothing bad, actually I lent it to Al for the contest because I have 2 cars now. I drive it about once a week now and so I guese my battery is toasted. It died when this guy (who slept on my couch, 1 of 3 last night) was driving it home and it died in the park. I think I just need a new battery. But its all Al's fault for and giggles. I like to give him a hard time, but I know it wasnt something he did, I hope. But somehow I dont think it would have happened if he hadnt used it, contradictory, yes and no. hmmm
