Holy #$@!, some of those suggestions I would never imaging putting on my teak!

Star Brite teak oil/sealer in the natural finish has proven to work excellent. Only need to apply it once or twice a season and it's not slippery at all. Looks beautiful.

There was a thread about it about a month ago.

thompsons water seal??? then do you ad a teak oil after??? Reason I ask..is because I am putting water seal on my deck today..perhaps I will add some to the grid...my boat sits in the water moored for the year so anything to keep the grid less water logged and weathered the better

No teak oil after. I have never actually put it on myself. I bought the boat from a guy this past February and this is what he said he put on the teak. He tried a few different things, including teak oil, but he found Thompson's to be the best. It is a 2000 X-Star and is in awesome shape for being 7 years old...he took really really good care of it and was the only owner.

When he did it, he only put the Thompsons water seal on it. It was usually done twice a season...once in the spring, and about midway through. Said it worked like a charm. We've been riding about 4-5 times a week since march 26th and so far i'm happy with it (he did it before he put it up for sale this winter).

If you don't like some of those ideas.. you will hate mine.. but now I never have to worry about "treatment" again! Also... I have a brand new teak platform stored in the garage. I always buy two platforms when I order my boats!Upload
