I tore my ACL at the beginning of the year and recently get one of the OTS CTI braces. The brace itself is great, but the straps that hold it to your leg just don't work out so well in the water. It will stay on no problem, but some straps just come loose or come off on certain falls. Last weekend I took a fall and the second strap down ripped out and broke the buckle. The buckle itself is screwed into the brace in a pretty simple fashion, and I am wondering if anyone has modified their knee brace with a better rig to hold tight in the water?

I have added metal snaps to the straps on my Don Joy brace. It works like a charm. The straps rarely come undone anymore. Just make sure you get the straps wet before you decide where to place the snaps.

You could also modify with the industrial strength velcro if you know someone who owns a sewing machine.

I replaced the critical straps with ratchet straps from snowboard bindings. I have been riding these braces for more then 7 years and they do not move and once I have them strapped on I don't even notice them.

I remember seeing these years ago and thinking what a great idea, then totally forgot about it. Now I have braces (asterisk and EVS) I think this is a must upgrade for the EVS.

A quick question. I dislocated my right knee playing sports in school recently and I just wanted to get one of those sleeve knee brace for when I ride jsut for a little support. Does anyone where these when they ride? If so, do they work well?

The GF had the same issue & DonJoy gave her a sleeve to put over it. They said if that didn't work they would do something else..... She hasn't ridden with it yet,
