how did you get the wire through the tower down from the top i'm having trouble doing this on my boat

looks liek he used a vacumm. You can also use a piece of string and tie a screw to the end of it and use a magnet to guide it thru.

I used a vacuum for my tower but the top of the tower was not fun. Make sure you have no air leaks.
