I have a Cannon 10D, which is friggin sweat, but cannot seem to even come close to the quality of the pictures you guys are getting.

Lets use this thread to post ideas, advice, etc on taking pictures or video on the water.

I have a few quick questions:

1. Do you guys use auto focus, or do you use manual focus since the rider is always the same distance away from the boat?

2. Do you go full manual? Do you use the high speed sports setting? Mine never turn out clear like that.

Whats your secret guys and gals?

The trick is to auto focus on the rider when they are getting up, then switch to manual focus.

Easiest thing to do is set your camera on aperture setting and put it at the lowest aperture. It will usually be 4 or 5.6 depending on your lense.

Do a search, especially in the photography threads. there is a ton of info and I'm just an amateur myself. Nothing like the quality of some of these guys on here.
