Coming to Twitch's defense, he is a good kid with good morals and a good work ethic especially in this day and age of kids thinking My Super Sweet 16 is real life. His family does well and he never gets on here and acts like a lot of the teens that lurk. This Andy though is coming off as a DB hopefully that will change.

Nice setup Andy -- But is that a Ski-Don't I spy in the back?? Please tell me you keep the Polaris/Arctic Cat's in the back to keep them nice and pretty haha. Where you ride at, U.P. or what?

But just a question - how do you cross state lines in a semi under 21? You get your CDL outta state or something?

Not mine. But oh, how I wish it was... one of the cleanest most beautiful trucks I've seen. GMC 3500 crew w/Amp (Les Schwab) 20" wheels. This was parked at the North entrance to the Seattle Boat Show, and I stopped to admire it every day I was at the show. Sorry for the quality, cell phone pic.

cal that may be an illusion but that rear end seems to be dragging .It must have one hell of a boat its pulling or that 3500 isnt too impressive.

hate your so right. those of us that have been here a while remember exactly how twitch introduced himself with his MC thread.....we checked him and he has been a great resource for info and provided some great advise to people ever since. (high five) so i hope andy is going to get the same lesson/beat down and will wind up being a good source of info for the future lookie looes on WW. so take your lumpings andy, get over it and welcome to WW.

oh yah i almost forgot my new tow rig!!!

You guys got me all worked up for a new rig....what's the opinion on an 08 F250, 6.4 PS. This particular truck has a 6" lift, I think 37's, and tons of flashy fluff. Is the 6.4 still getting the bugs worked out? Truck has 7K miles on it. I've had 2 6.0 PSD's, and they both left me stranded a couple times...caused me to go to Cummins in 2006.

For the lifted guys....how much does a properly installed suspension lift decrease your towing capacity? I regularly will need to pull up to 12.5K on a conventional hitch.

Bill, I think it's an illusion from the angle of the shot and the crappy-ness of my phone's camera, it was sitting level and looked solid.
Old     (westsiderippa)      Join Date: Dec 2006       02-05-2009, 6:28 PM Reply
meathead, im am loving my rig right now. i had a 05 with the 6.0 and yes i got stranded once when my high pressure oil pump went out but who didnt have that problem. reason i love this 08, first off its so smooth and quiet. i never have been one too chip, lift or do many mods to my diesels but im not opposed to it so im not much help there. i like the twin turbo. it rolls on smooth were my 05 had a harder hit. if im correct the turbos roll on in series? first one than a smooth transition to the second, but im not sure exactly. mine is a late 08 so it had the major recalls already done, i.e. flame throwing exaust, coolent venturi issue and regeneration cycle program issue, seat belt mount issue. all these were fixed before my truck was delivered so........ my truck was sitting on the lot for a few months so it had a pully sqeak due to lack of lubrication from not being ran, fixed in a few hrs. no issues at 4100 miles but its got a long life ahead of her so who knows. over all the interior of the 08 is insane on the lariet. it feels more roomy than my 05, the dash feels like it is more forward and up, very classy with a sport look with the chrome bezels and such with the woodgrain look intermixed. its a deffinent tow truck, it likes having a trailer back there. going from a 350 to a 250 has not been an issue but i think i might need to put a super spring in the rear when towing the 10k dump trailer. but i have not been working wit my bro lately so i dont know yet. tows my vlx like its not even there.

Here's our tow rigs/toys

Mine is white 2005 Ford Superduty 4x4. 10.5 inch Rize lift with 40 inch Toyo's on 22 inch MKW, intake, edge, hog performance stainless exhaust, 4 inch, and a bunch of other stuff

Dodge is my business partner Brett's 2005 Dodge Dually with Kelderman Air Ride lift, about 16 inches total lift, 22.5 inch freightliner 18 wheeler wheels and tires, you can see the easy way to load a trailer. No need to jack the trailer up, just drop the back end of the truck and back up, then air it up and pick the trailer up.

I have a F350 and it answered all of my needs during cross country Toy Box travel (Dirt Bike days)
Today towing a boat this piece of sh!+ can't turn a 180 on a three lane highway. It has a worse turning radius than a freaking freight train.

I'm looking for something small, tasteful and pretty. I want to turn and back up like the boat isn't even back there.
Here is my idea of the ultimate tow vehicle. To bad everybody else thinks the same way, these things are expensive.......

Damn there are some bad ass set ups out there, nice work guys.

Brent that Bronco is sick but as a tow rig it does have a short wheel base so it'd have a little less control but yeah nice ass rig.

Ron, that set up looks super tight love the red and black together.

We are the poster children for foreign oil dependence it would seem. It's starting to bother me just the tiniest bit every now and then in the winter when we can't ride... a couple of good sets in the spring and it goes away though ;-)
As a compromise we gave up the "full figured" tow rig and found a smaller vehicle that does almost as well.

Had to get rid of the diesel. The new truck hopefully will be "set up" this summer! (Hope for a good HAIL season!!!) Otherwise the boat is usually behind the RV. Then the beater is the launch vehicle for the lake. We don't have a ramp. Just sand!! Come on summer!!!!!
