I am new to wakeboarding, started a year ago. I am really looking at the moomba outback because I can get a good deal on a 2004 model with the wakeboard tower. How is the wake? I know it is more of a ski boat, but will it put out a decent wake if I added a 550-600 pound fat-sac under the rear set? PLEASE HELP

Just us fat sac's and youll be straight.

I run a 03 Mobius LS and i use about 2300# in extra ballast and I love my wake. You don't need to use that much but you get my drift.

I had an 04 before i got my 06 lsv, and we loved it. We put a fat seat(1100lbs) in the back and two fat buddies up front/sides(250 each) Made a really good wake, and you can drain to salom/ski/tube or just get better gas millage. it might not suit a outlaw/pro rider but for most ppl, it works well. Our buddies could throw any invert they wanted!

Jeff, it should be pretty good. However, I would caution those comparing it to other Moomba 2004 boats. The Outback had a completely different hull than the others. The others (Outback LS, Outback LSV, Mobius LS and Mobius LSV) all shared the same hull which was a wakeboarding hull. The Outback did not have the same hull.

i had an 05 outback for my first boat and the wake was more than enough for me. i even had a former pro rider behind my boat and it didn't seem to stop him from throwing anything.

i ran about 700lbs in the back and 400 up front and it was pretty good size
