Does any one have 1991 Mastercraft Prostar 190

I jsut cam across one of these. What are your thoughts? How much room is there behind the passanger seat?

They are a closed bow competition slalom boat. Not that great for boarding. Of course, if your budget is tight and the price is right.....
You should look at older Nautiques.

One of the best built boats of all time. It is also one of the best slalom boats of all time. Probably no the best choice for boarding. What are you looking to put up in the bow area?

I own a 90 Prostar 190. you can weigh it down and get a clean wake but the word "big" would not be in your vocabulary. Brett is right its a great slalom boat.

The 91 has a different hull than the 90 but probably has the same result. The wake will probably be rampy and like KState said not big. I believe 91 was when they went to a wider beam boat as well so it would be a little roomier inside then the previous years.

Just sold my first boat 92 Prostar.

We kept 200lbs in the front behind the seat up near the nose and still had plenty of room for a 12" sub, life jackets, a couple of amp's mounted on the inner wall.

The wake on these boats for a begginer is good, and when weighted down with a couple of 700lbs bags beside the motor you can have a pretty good time.

I learned to ride for the past 2 years behind the boat and landed my first invert last summer and since i got it figured out Tantrum backrolls are no big thing.

I jsut came across one that is in MINT condition. I was wondering if there was any way to put weight near the front of the nose. I really want an open bow. But this boat looks brand new and i can get it for a great price.

Yeah, open the passenger seat and you can put weight near the nose. And putting sacs in the back or along sides the engine is not going to leave much room for anything else. My dad has the 92, but the boat is not used for wakeboarding.

I've got an 89 you can try out. One of the best wakeskating wakes, and you can get it big enough to do what most people want

A friend of mine had a 91 prostar. He built a tank in the back I believe around 1000lbs. and another up in the bow around 400lbs. Plumbed it all up and it did great. The main issue was after that ballast if you had more than 5 people in the boat that 240hp engine really struggled to get going.

We had a 1989 prostar 190 and let me tell you we got rid of it in 1998 and we had almost 2,700 hours on the boat and that thing was built rock solid and the
only problem we ever had was with the speedo's but not a big deal. we actually removed the rear seat and i bought one of those fat seats and that really made the wake better but not so great because of the lack of power in my opinion and it was just really sluggish with that 351w.

Like any towboat, the right prop will go a LONG way toward how much you can pull outta the hole. Solid boats for sure, owned the slalom market for a long time. PS 190 Owners have said that adding a tower can actually bring the value down on them since they're still so sought after by die-hard skiers, so keep that in mind.

thanks for the advice! i think i am going to hold out and wait till i find an open bow! I still little bitter about that guy selling his boat to his son-in-law!!!!!!! the good news is the boat is still sitting there and I know he hasnt got any money for it!
